Rooted itself is testnet-preview as of 2026-08 — its own site shows a testnet faucet and a "testnet preview" footer, and governance currently runs on a multisig rather than a live on-chain DAO. The underlying protocol-owned reserve-currency ("(3,3)") pattern is proven at real scale by its originator, OlympusDAO, and by variants such as KlimaDAO — both mainnet-live for multiple years, though with a well-documented history of heavy early speculative churn and steep drawdowns rather than the purely long-horizon holding the mechanism is designed to reward. Rooted has not yet operated at that scale or duration. - Governance requirements
- A team capable of deploying and maintaining the treasury-valuation, bond, and staking contracts, plus — in Rooted's current implementation — a multisig empowered to gate privileged operations; not, at present, a live on-chain DAO.
- Resource requirements
- Smart-contract deployment on a blockchain (Rooted uses Base, an Ethereum L2), initial reserve assets to seed the treasury, and — for Rooted’s specific instance — verified tokenized climate assets (solar-generation credits, reforestation credits, ecological-claim registries) to hold as reserves.
